The biggest question in life is, “What comes after this life? If I were to die right now do where would I go?” There are many opinions on this subject, but the Word of God is very clear. I John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” You do not have to guess or leave it to chance.
• Realize That God Loves You
God loves you and has a plan for your life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
• The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners
Our sins have separated us from God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) God made man in His own image. He gave man the ability to choose right from wrong. We choose to sin. Our sins keep us from God.
• God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For
“For the wages of sin is death….” (Romans 6:23) Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, separation from God forever.
• The Good News Is That Christ Paid For Our Sins
Jesus died on the cross and paid our sin debt. He rose from the grave proving His power over sin and death. He is alive forevermore. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
• We Must Personally Pray And Receive Christ By Faith
The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
• Pray And Receive Christ As Your Savior
If you have never received Jesus as your personal Savior you can pray, “Lord, I know that I am a sinner. If I died today, I would not go to heaven. Forgive my sin, come into my life and be my Savior. Help me live for you from this day forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.” The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
• New Life
Once you have accepted Jesus as Savior, God places you in the family of God. You can never lose this privilege. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:28-30)
